Cebu South Road Trip for One Night and Two Days + Itinerary

South Cebu is one of my favorite destinations for a road trip on Holidays because of its diversity. From the tallest magnificent waterfalls and mountains down to white beach, and island hopping.

Last Thanksgiving day we decided to pick two waterfalls of our destinations considering we left the city at already eight in the morning.
We headed to Dau Falls in Suba, Samboan as our first destination. It’s a three-hour drive from the city and at least 4 hours by bus. Spotting the road going to the waterfalls is very easy. You will see a sign on the right side of the road just right after Samboan town proper. Suba is a 10-minute ride by motorcycle know as habal-habal. Trekking to Dau Falls from barangay Suba is 30 minutes.

How to get to Malapascua Island

Malapascua Island is just one of the incredibly blissful Islands of Cebu. Its size is about 2km by 0.2km that you can walk for about 1-2 hours. This Island has the population of about 4,000, most of whom lived through fishing, tourism, boat building or coconuts.

The Island of Malapascua has been very famous for foreign divers not only because of its abundance in marine sanctuaries, but because thresher sharks can also be seen in Monad Shoal regularly. Often, divers go diving before sunrise as they say, it is when the sharks are visible and many.

The entire Island of Malapascua infinite shorelines covered with almost powdery like white sands.

On top of that, the locals are also extremely friendly, and the food is incomparable.

If you are looking for a perfect getaway place far from the city chaos and traffic, Islas de Gigantes is a great place! Nature mixed with different thrill and adventure, great food, serenity, and peace is just one of many things the place has to offer.

The island is located in the northern part of Iloilo, Philippines particularly in Carles. The nearest airport to Carles is Roxas Airport in Roxas City. It takes 2 to 3 hours by van to get to Carles town. Other airports such as Iloilo International Aiport is 4-5 hours by van, and Kalibo Aklan International Aiport is 5-6 hours. There are two jumps off ports to get to the island, Bancal port in Carles town, and Estancia port. While you can you get to the island in either of two ports, however, Bancal is the most recommended one and the fastest way to get to the isle. A municipal tourist office is also available to assist visitors, and it has plenty of passenger boats that transits to the island of Gigantes daily.

Reminder: If you take the Estancia port unless you chartered a boat remember that there is only one passenger boat in Estancia port that leaves at 2 PM.

Islas de Gigantes is a Spanish term means Islands of Giants. These group of Islands is located in the town of Carles, the northern city of Iloilo, Philippines. These giants of the island are divided into two groups, Gigantes Norte and Gigantes Sur.

Islas de Gigantes for me is one of the must visit place in the Philippines. If you have been to Bantayan Island in Cebu, Boracay Island in Aklan and El Nido Palawan, well, the Island of Giants is more like of those three islands combined.

Just like Bantayan Island and Boracay Island, Islas de Gigantes also offers a fascinating infinite view of the horizon, powdery white sand, and long shorelines and scrambling through a jagged peak of the Bakwitan cave similar to Taraw Cliff in El Nido.

Sambawan Islands situated in Biliran, a kilometer north of Leyte. Its capital municipality is Naval. Biliran is composed of two Islands, Biliran Island (mainland) and Maripipi Island – in which Sambawan Island is closest to.

SAMBAWAN AS AN ISLAND

Sambawan Island is by far my favorite Island in Eastern Visayas Region of the Philippines.

Sambawan Island is a paradise! Stunningly beautiful and is exactly what everyone is looking for. The semi curved beach is entirely carved with mountainous coastline and its hilly landscape flowered with grass gives an astonishing view from the top. The panoramic view of sunrise and sunsets from the top is breathtakingly beautiful. It surely melted my heart.

The white sand and it’s summery blue water rich of marine lives makes you don’t want to leave the island. I’d say, Sambawan Island is a must visit the place that should be on everyone’s list.
